Members & roles

Your organization can have a whole team. Roles set what each person can do at a high level, and per-member permissions refine it from there.

Roles#

Every member has one of three roles:

  • Owner — full control of the organization, including billing. There's always at least one.
  • Admin — manages bots, knowledge, integrations and members, but not billing-level controls reserved for the Owner.
  • Operator — works the Inbox, handling live chats.

Inviting members#

Open Members → Invite, enter an email and pick a role. The invitee gets a link to join.

The Invitations tab tracks pending and expired invites — copy the link again, resend, or delete an invitation from there.

Per-member permissions#

Open a member to fine-tune what they can do, beyond their role:

  • Max active chats — how many conversations an operator handles at once.
  • Allow blocking users — let them block contacts.
  • Allow removing members — let them remove teammates.
  • View financial reports — let them see billing and cost data.

Managing access#

Search and filter the member list by role or status. Each member's panel shows their activity — a weekly chart and a timeline of actions like logins and resolved chats — plus a danger zone to block, unblock or remove them.

Blocking vs removing

Block suspends access while keeping the member on the team; Remove takes them out of the organization entirely. Use block for a temporary pause.
